The Road Ahead

Vision Forward: A TB-Free Bharat

Despite decades of service, the mission is far from complete. With renewed energy, the focus now turns to eliminating pediatric tuberculosis across India through the following commitments.

  • 01 Adopting Gram Panchayats to make them entirely pediatric TB-free through screening, treatment, and education
  • 02 Supporting TB patients as a Nikshay Mitra, providing nutritional and emotional care alongside treatment adherence
  • 03 Raising awareness across schools, colleges, and universities for TB Mukt Bharat
  • 04 Organising TB detection camps, especially in rural and underserved urban areas
  • 05 Building a national network of pediatricians and physicians for collaborative action
  • 06 Partnering with IMA, IAP, and FOGSI to strengthen TB advocacy and care delivery
  • 07 Promoting BCG and catch-up immunisations to eliminate vaccine-preventable TB
  • 08 Advancing research on shorter, more effective regimens for MDR-TB and routine pediatric TB
  • 09 Training healthcare personnel in pediatric TB sampling and early-detection techniques nationwide
